Pu Puite, you're bleeding!

Only on 27 seconds video clip, the Mizo youth who were in anguish and run away from the Assam Police has exposed. "Pu Puite, you're bleeding!" is heard and "Yes, I know" follows. On that short video, we have heard the sounds of the Assam Police beating and firing a gun to the civilians which made the place in smoke and in dusty. We too see that the innocent civilians had run away and following them by the armed policeman. This had clearly remind us of fifty (50) years back in which the Mizoram had fought for an independence. That short video was not an acting but it's real! It was captured by the one who is there at the spot by running away from them for safety.

Another video clip is exposing, on that the Assam Police has brutally assaulted the Mizo civilians and chased them away with their long and strong stick. Even the Mizo journalist had clarified themselves that they were a 'media person' but ignores that and kept beating as much as the energy they had. That is the place of Mizoram in which the Assam Government had declared CrPc Section 144, a place where the Assam police had beaten our fellow beings. That place is not a battlefield but it is the territory of Mizoram, it happens in Mizoram! We, the Mizo, the pain we held in our hearts will therefore not be healing till this pieces of land is returned to us.

The tragic situation has happened at 'Zophai' which was about 500 metres before Mr. Ch. Chhunga's (L) (first Chief Minister of Mizoram) paddy field, it is near Bairabi of Kolasib district, Mizoram. The Mizoram had taken a tax (revenue tax) of that location since from the year 1987. It is truly the territory of Mizoram. Cruelly, the Assam Police had beaten and shot within the Mizoram territory. Two men were shot and above 50 civilians were beaten black and blue.

Not only that, the Assam police had taken their mobile phone and burnt their vehicles like bus, taxi and two wheeler. What a very huge spoiling, sacking, looting and ransacking! The Assam Police didn't stop or finish on shooting and beating! But taken their electronics goods, vehicles and spoiling and burning the vehicles, chase them away with their guns and huge stick and made them to be in dismayed and wandering. It is neither a battle between the countries nor a horrible and terrible terrorist reaction. But it was a reaction of the Assam Police who took monthly salary from the Assam government. Their terrible and horrible reaction shall never be forgotten by the people of Mizoram until and unless the Mizo nation is vanished.

On this day of March 10th, 2018 (saturday). Two female Mizo journalist- Emmy Lawbei (NEWS 18) and Catherine Sangi (All India Radio) were brutally assaulted by the Assam Police and received the injuries on their arms, shoulder, back and butt. Before this day, on March 8th 2018 (Thursday), six Mizo journalist (3 from Aizawl and 3 from Kolasib) had visited the place and three (3) of them were beating by the Assam police. Even though these journalist had shown their PRESS Identity Card and clarified themselves as a 'media person', but that doesn't work, they kept on beating, but not only beating but trashing and damaging their vehicles too.
Emmy Lawbei
If we are looking in wider of India, we used to see the journalist were beaten, shot dead, but this things were done by the kidnappers, the robber or by the hungry fox of the people. But it was not like that kind in this situation, they were the ASSAM POLICE, the government servant. Their reaction and the way they act is not less than the horrible terrorist action. Rarely, we have seen the journalist shot dead in the middle-east but never like this in which five (5) journalist were assaulting at once. Even in the wide world, hardly the journalist got attack.

Comparing to the incident that happened on the 24th September, 2017, when Sajeev Gopalam, Malayalam Journalist working for the 'Kalakaumudi' newspaper got assaulted by policemen inside his residence, it reckoned the whole of India! But this incident is not just a single journo, they are 5 of them. So, its a must for the Government of Assam to take necessary steps so as to pin out the culprit.

As per the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) reports 142 journalists have been assaulted brutally since 2015. In the years between 1992-1996, seventy( 70 ) journalists in India lost their precious life.

Eight members of the Student Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) who broke the Bhopal jail on the 31st September, 2016 were drop dead by Bhopal Policemen. Even though the Bhopal Inspector General of Police Yokesh Choudary explained and try to clean up the messy traces, still the South Asian Human Rights Watch Director, Meenakshi Ganguly disclaimed and protested the brutal act of the Policemen. Further exclaiming, "They have the right to protect with their martial law but does not have the rights to torture or assault any unarmed civilians!".

The incident that has been taking place in the District of Kolasib will not be forgotten and forgiven in any ways as the Assam Policemen opens fire against an unarmed Mizo civilians. Looking back when the Indian Government dropped bombs in Aizawl on the 5th March 1966, we all knew how many innocent people lost their lives. No words can express how it hurts and painful it was during the time. And  the scars left by that has not yet recovered but now see how it happens today! It only been 52 years, here the Assam Policemen triggered their bullets and wounded us in our own land area! The victims of this cannot leave the hospital until now! Not only the firing, its hard to understand why they have to assault the unarmed civilians. This pain they've been giving us will never be forgotten nor forgiven up till the coming 52 years or more and yes, about the incident will be pass on generation to generations as long as the Mizo stands!

So as to motivate one to stand for the land, "Mr Puite, your blood is being spilled!" be the words that keeps striking.

Mizo version here...
